A lot of times I’ll teach a combination that I know will develop into a bigger piece. Teaching three classes a week allows me to workshop choreography and streamline my efforts. I’m continuing “In This Shirt” both for my assistant as a solo and a forthcoming broader video project. If you really listen to the lyrics, it’s very emotional and the storytelling is wonderful. I played around with projecting the lyrics onto the movement. He keeps talking about the fleeting nature of rainbows and the movement reflects that. I told them to keep drawing the rainbows with their bodies and watch them disappear.
